"Return to Me"- When this movie first came out, almost every review I saw in the papers and Entertainment Weekly claimed that David's performance was too reminiscent of Mulder to make his character believable. I don't understand this. My first impression of David in this movie was that Bob was so *different* than Mulder, and I was amazed at David's ability to pull it off. I thought he did a very good job. My only problem was the scene at the very end of the movie where he seemed to fall right back into his Mulder routine again. But on a second viewing of the movie, I don't think that was the case. Okay, brief runthrough: Bob's wife Elizabeth dies tragically in a car crash. Her heart is donated to an artist, who waitresses her grandfather's Irish/Italian restaurant, named Grace (my sister's name!). Grace meets Bob when he is coerced into a bad blind date at the restaurant. He "accidentally" leaves his cell phone behind so he can see her again, one thing leads to another and they fall in love. Then Grace finds out who's heart she has...I won't give away any more of the plot. There is a reason women live longer than men. I believe we know how much chaos we would leave behind by widowing the men in our lives and we would rather not let that happen. Bob is the perfect example: completely hopeless. Because he is unable to cook for himself, he settles for Chinese food apparently every day at every meal. The delivery girl (or maybe boy, I don't remember) knows him by name and ends their conversation with "see you tomorrow." There are take-out Chinese boxes all over the house, most likely dating back to his wife death one year ago. There is a really cute scene where he tries to make microwave popcorn while on a date with Grace. She asks if he needs any help and he assures her that "I think I can handle microwave popcorn." Then he puts it in the microwave wrong, burns it, and tries to cover the smell of burnt popcorn by using window cleaner as air freshener. Overall, this is a really cute movie. David has described it as an "old fashioned romance," and it really is. This means, they never get any further than necking on Bob's couch. It's nice to see a movie once in a while that does not have sex and violence out the wazoo. This is that movie. ~Diandra Hollman
